Link’s House

Where Link’s House generates and what its single custom loot chest contains.

Documented

Link’s House is a small exploration stop in forests, birch forests, and meadows. Most of the storage is decorative, but one chest uses the custom Link’s House loot table.

Biome ID or tagRequirement
minecraft:forestVanilla ID or built-in tag
minecraft:birch_forestVanilla ID or built-in tag
minecraft:meadowVanilla ID or built-in tag

Biome membership is an eligibility rule, not a guarantee. Optional #c: tags only broaden placement if populated in this world or modpack.

Confirmed structure-specific behavior

The inspected structure configuration defines its eligible biomes and surface placement. The template has a loot-table chest guaranteeing a Magic Lantern, eight empty barrels and an item frame.

Inside the structure: decoded template

The link_house.nbt template is 25 × 10 × 35 blocks with 7,980 explicit block records. The counts refer to the saved template, not a guarantee that every server places the same structure.

  • One chest uses the Link’s House chest loot table, which has a guaranteed Magic Lantern entry.
  • Eight barrel blocks have empty Items lists. An item-frame entity and a music block are also present.

Finding it

  1. Search eligible biomes in newly generated terrain. Config changes do not alter old chunks.
  2. On a cheats-enabled world, try /locate structure mastersword:link_house, provided the built-in pack is enabled.
  3. Keep in mind that the shared generator requires relatively flat land and excludes village-adjacent candidates.

World-generation rules

Structure generation is affected by enabled data packs, biome-tag population and server configuration. The default spacing is 40 chunks, minimum separation is 30 chunks, and a candidate is excluded within 10 chunks of village structure-set candidates. The custom land generator rejects starts at a sampled center height of 250 or above and layouts whose sampled surface varies by more than four blocks.

Generation notes

These biome rules come from the structure’s built-in biome tag and worldgen definition. Server configs or datapacks can change what appears in a world. Structure definition: src/main/resources/packs/link_house/data/mastersword/worldgen/structure/link_house.json.

Template versus gameplay

This page documents saved block/entity records and any linked loot-table JSON. It does not claim to solve a dungeon puzzle, guarantee every random reward, or verify an actual in-game screenshot.
