Lon Lon Ranch is one of the mod’s largest structures. It combines horses, Lon Lon Cows, milk, five placed chests, and the guaranteed Epona’s Song sheet in its regular Ranch chest.

Biome membership is an eligibility rule, not a guarantee. Optional #c: tags only broaden placement if populated in this world or modpack.
Confirmed structure-specific behavior
The ranch structure defines creature spawns for Lon Lon Cows (weight 60, groups of 1–2) and vanilla horses (weight 40, groups of 1–2). Adult Lon Lon Cows give Lon Lon Milk when used with an empty Hylian Bottle and have a five-minute milk cooldown. Zelda’s Lullaby can reset nearby cow milk timers. The locally decoded template also directly saves one vanilla Horse and one Lon Lon Cow entity.

Inside the structure: decoded template
The lon_lon_ranch.nbt template is 115 × 24 × 131 blocks with 361,560 explicit block records. The counts refer to the saved template, not a guarantee that every server places the same structure.
- The locally decoded template contains five chest blocks: one regular Ranch chest, two Ranch secret chests, one vanilla tannery chest and one vanilla shepherd chest.
- The regular Ranch chest is at local (103, 4, 17); secret-table chests are at (22, 4, 93) and (105, 4, 20).
- Forty-eight barrel blocks are saved with no loot table, and the template directly saves one vanilla Horse and one Lon Lon Cow entity.

Finding it
- Search eligible biomes in newly generated terrain. Config changes do not alter old chunks.
- On a cheats-enabled world, try
/locate structure mastersword:lon_lon_ranch, provided the built-in pack is enabled. - Keep in mind that the shared generator requires relatively flat land and excludes village-adjacent candidates.
World-generation rules
Structure generation is affected by enabled data packs, biome-tag population and server configuration. The default spacing is 40 chunks, minimum separation is 30 chunks, and a candidate is excluded within 10 chunks of village structure-set candidates. The custom land generator rejects starts at a sampled center height of 250 or above and layouts whose sampled surface varies by more than four blocks.
Generation notes
These biome rules come from the structure’s built-in biome tag and worldgen definition. Server configs or datapacks can change what appears in a world. Structure definition: src/main/resources/packs/lon_lon_ranch/data/mastersword/worldgen/structure/lon_lon_ranch.json.
